so finally i'm writing a quick blog on DC---i figure that something is better than nothing! The international justice mission was definitely my highlight. it turns out that the woman we were scheduled to meet with is from the seattle area, the same church conference as northshore, and my similar age. We probably were at a bunch of the same rally's!! Anyway, it was awesome for me to take part in the prayer meeting and to hear the heart of their work. They've done some incredible things: they were featured on the nightly news and dateline I think it was, for their work in rescuing over 30 young girls in cambodia who were basically caught in child sex trafficking. Not only that, but because they work with nationals they are actually able to see perpetrators tried and convicted. WOW!! That is just a glimpse, but check out their site for more details!! It looks like we'll start to work on getting a chapter started up at Multnomah--yeah!!
The student gov. conference was okay--not the best fit for our context but still valuable and we gleaned some good info that we can apply!
Thanks SOOOO much for praying!
