speaking of justice...pray for a meeting thursday morning with IJM (international justice mission). i feel incredibly privileged that they were willing to meet up with me and my students. we get to attend their staff prayer meeting and meet with one of the leaders. IJM is a christian organization that has a HUGE voice in washington and is doing incredible work to fight against injustice internationally, particularly as it regards human sex trafficking. it's the kind of organization i would love to be a part of (or partner with) sometime in the future, so i see this meeting as very specific timing with all the questions i've been asking the Lord lately. more on that when i return...DC here I come!!!!!!!!!!!!!

returning to DC
so on wednesday morning i leave to DC for a conference with three of the executive council members of STUGO. i'm looking forward to the time with them and the training from the conference. i haven't been to DC since '03 right after i graduated---a wacky and intense summer at that! i'm looking forward to returning to the district with new eyes---returning to the place where the Lord spoke two specific things at least...one of which was in the form of a question that has marked me...a question i'll never forget..."How do I be a minister of justice, not merely benevolence?"
